And the Sun Sinks in the West

ravi-shankar_master-of-sitar

“We offer this Ode to Ravi Shankar with

our hearts silenced as their Sitar will not

be played by them any more, leaving

a void in our souls..”The joy, beauty, full

of light..Your music was

only divinity

Your music was only divinity

Atma spoke as the strings played

The light you gave to the world of Sitar,

Is there anyone ever to compare

You’ve shown the world that all hearts are one

With strings from the East

Merging with drums from the West

Flowing in the raphsody of music

Were songs played and histories made

Ravi is your name, so very dwight

Filling the world with music like Shankar

Sun from the eastern horizon

Thrilling the hearts of everyone

Has travelled to the West to leave

Us with heaviness in heart

A student always although in nineties

We will remember you until eternity

With love to you, O Ravi Shankar!

you are the music on the strings of Sitar!

Like a star, you are, shining in every heart
